way back in the day when lets say times were different i used to go for a thirst quenching tennents lager after a really hot steamy… game of squash… bobby clark where are you now, anyway we would go to a bar in the east end of princes street in edinburgh cos it was new, clean, served a beautiful cold beer and live on a thursday night was a blues singer from the telly except he was a long time from the telly, this would have been his rehab period except then there was no such thing, you were either on the wagon or under it… we went every week for quite a while, till one week he was a no show, so we found somewhere else to go on thursdays… a few years later i was by now living in dumfries and up in edinburgh for a night out and too late on the night we discovered that tam white was playing at the preservation hall with his live band, the dexters… later i bought the live album and was even more hacked off to discover that not only had we missed a great gig but i knew the bass player and could have got in the back door… sometimes life just kicks ya in the baws, nae reason needed… so why the blog, well it is the last piece of vinyl left here and i need to get it digitalised or at least taped on to a cassette before it becomes an ornament at al’s bar… meanwhile tam white went on to become an actor (braveheart) and acclaimed blues and jazz singer but whatever happened to bobby… come to think of it what happened to me…
